The school district of West Orange is comprised of seven elementary schools - Gregory, Hazel Avenue, Mount Pleasant, Pleasantdale, Redwood, St. Cloud and Washington  — three middle schools — Edison, Liberty, and Roosevelt, — and one high school, West Orange High School. In the 1990s, the West Orange school district was ranked among the top 1% of schools in the nation by The Washington Post.
